Dairy Farm Assistant (NZ Resident/Citizen) – Norsewood (REC-DFA-WV)

We are seeking a Dairy Farm Assistant to work on a 450-cow farm in the Norsewood area, milking through a 36 AS Herringbone shed. Previous farming experience and mechanical aptitude are a huge plus!

You'll have a range of duties to keep you busy, interested and developing including:

Milking once a day

• shifting cows and feeding
• fencing, weed control
• calving, calf rearing
• shed cleaning and setup
• identifying and alerting managers to sick cows

Setting fences

and other general farm duties.

Weekly hours are a minimum of 40 and a maximum of 50. Since farm work is dependent on a number of unknown factors like weather and animals, any hours worked beyond the agreed maximum in a fortnightly pay period will be paid at the agreed overtime rate.

The schedule may vary; Roster will be 5 days on, 2 days off for the rest of the year.

Salary is $78,000 per annum.
