Data & Analytics Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Data & Analytics Engineer to own and enhance our modern data platform, built on Microsoft Fabric and Power BI.
In this role, you’ll design and support reliable data pipelines, deliver high-quality reporting, and ensure our analytics environment is trusted, secure, and high-performing. You will work closely with vendors, and business stakeholders to enable data-driven decision-making across the organisation.
This is a hands-on role combining data engineering, analytics, and platform operations in a complex, production environment.
What you’ll be doing
Design, build and maintain end-to-end data pipelines across multiple data sources (Azure, SQL, APIs, etc)
Develop and optimise data models and semantic layers to support reporting and analytics
Create and enhance Power BI dashboards and Fabric reporting solutions
Ensure strong data quality, governance, and security (including RLS)
Monitor performance and resolve issues across data pipelines, refreshes, and reporting
Manage releases and deployments across Dev/Test/Prod environments
Support cloud resource management and optimisation (Azure)
Drive continuous improvement and modern data capabilities across the platform
What you’ll bring
Bachelor’s degree with honours in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Physics or Statistics
Extensive experience in data engineering and analytics platforms in an enterprise environment
Strong expertise in Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and modern data platforms
Proven experience with SQL and data transformation (ETL/ELT)
Experience with tools such as Azure Data Factory, data lakes, and cloud-based architectures
Solid understanding of data modelling, DAX, and performance optimisation
Experience supporting production platforms, including incident/change management
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to translate technical concepts for business user
Preferred: Microsoft certifications (e.g., PL-300, Fabric certifications)
Experience with machine learning or advanced analytics
Exposure to enterprise systems such as Finance, HRIS or Payroll
