About the role:

As a Distribution Lineman based in Palmerston North, you'll play a key role in the construction, maintenance and repair of overhead and underground electricity distribution networks. Working as part of a collaborative field services team, you'll help ensure reliable power supply to customers while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and customer service.

Key responsibilities include

Installing, repairing and maintaining electricity distribution infrastructure

Erecting and replacing power poles and associated network equipment

Stringing, testing, repairing and replacing electrical conductors and cables

Installing transformers and connecting equipment to electricity networks

Responding to faults and carrying out emergency network repairs

Completing required documentation, as-builts and records accurately and on time

Maintaining vehicles, plant and equipment to required standards

Supporting trainees and contributing to a positive team environment

Demonstrating a strong commitment to health, safety and environmental requirements

About you:

You are a qualified and safety-conscious Line Mechanic who takes pride in delivering quality workmanship and reliable service. You enjoy working outdoors, thrive in a team environment and are committed to maintaining high standards in everything you do.

To be successful in this role, you'll bring

• Current NZ EWRB Practising Licence
• NZ Line Mechanic Qualification
• Current unrestricted NZ manual driver's licence, including heavy traffic
• Experience working on electricity distribution systems up to 33kV
• Strong construction, maintenance and fault response skills
• The ability to read and interpret plans and network drawings
• Confidence working at heights and in varied outdoor conditions
• A strong customer focus and commitment to quality outcomes
• Excellent teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills
• A proactive approach to health and safety and continuous improvement
