About the role
Strawberry Tree Kaikōura is an award winning, well-established gastro pub known for its welcoming atmosphere, live music, exceptional food, and excellent service. We're currently seeking 2 x full-time Duty Managers to join our team and help lead the daily operations of our lively bar and restaurant. These are permanent positions offering the opportunity to grow within a dynamic hospitality environment.
Key responsibilities
Provide prompt, welcoming front-of-house service, ensuring high-quality food and beverage delivery
Manage daily bar and restaurant operations, maintaining a smooth and efficient workflow
Respond professionally to customer inquiries and feedback
Train, supervise, and mentor new and junior front-of-house staff
Monitor stock levels, manage inventory, and place orders as needed
Ensure all products and services are correctly displayed and accurately priced
Uphold full compliance with the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 and all licensing regulations
Promote and maintain a safe, responsible drinking environment for both patrons and staff
Oversee responsible alcohol service, including checking IDs and monitoring consumption
Maintain accurate Duty Manager signage, incident registers, and alcohol management records
About you
NZQF Level 2 or 3 qualification in hospitality, OR at least one year of relevant experience
Relevant supervisory or team leading experience preferred
LCQ and/or current Manager's Certificate an advantage (training can be provided)
Full driving license is an advantage
