At Enphase, we're on a mission to advance a sustainable future for all. This internship is your chance to be part of that work, not just watch from the sidelines.

Seven internship projects are open now. find your fit below!

How to Apply

  • Cover letter: tell us which project(s) you're interested in (you can list more than one)
  • Resume + transcripts: combine your most recent academic transcripts with your resume into a single document (there's no separate upload for transcripts)
  • Applications that don't follow these instructions won't move forward to review, so double-check before submitting.
  • Deadline: 8 October 2026

Available Projects

1. Improved Loss Management of Power Transformers: Advance transformer knowledge by evaluating high-frequency core loss mechanisms. Simulate ferrite core losses in FEMM across different core geometries, then hand-prototype physical replicas to test simulation accuracy and identify which core dimensions most affect losses.

2. AI-based Resource Planner: Build an AI-based resource planner using LLM reasoning to generate valid, auditable engineering resource plans from incomplete or ambiguous briefs, integrated with live Jira data. Explore whether LLM outputs can be made deterministic and verifiable enough for commercial use.

3. Custom Switching Device Development: Develop and evaluate an integrated Grid Switch solution through testing, CAD, concept development, and prototyping. Ideal for a Mechanical or Mechatronics student wanting hands-on product development experience.

4. Infrared Test Platform: Design, build, and validate a configurable IR thermal testing platform that simulates real-world rooftop installation conditions. Suited to Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering students.

5. Magnetics Grinding: Test whether low-cost automated benchtop grinding can produce accurate, dimensionally consistent ferrite core gaps for controlling leakage inductance in IQ-series transformers, a relationship currently uncharacterized for this material and geometry.

6. 2D Optical Inspection of PCAs: Develop a computer-vision-based Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) program to detect component presence and placement defects on low-volume prototype PCB assemblies.

7. NTC Emulation Box: Design and build a device that emulates thermistor behaviour for repeatable testing, combining hardware design, PCB development, and Python test automation for Enphase's safety-critical energy systems.
