Enterprise Applications & Systems Analyst
Job Description
Big ideas. Real-world impact. Global opportunity.
At SYOS Aerospace , we're building the next generation of autonomous systems across air, land and sea. From advanced research and engineering in New Zealand to manufacturing and delivery in the UK and beyond, our teams are transforming ambitious ideas into real-world technology.
We're growing quickly, expanding our manufacturing operations and building the systems and processes needed to support that growth. This is an opportunity to make a genuine impact in a global aerospace business where the work you do matters.
About the role
We're looking for a hands-on Enterprise Applications & Systems Analyst who understands business processes, knows their way around enterprise systems and enjoys turning problems into practical, working solutions. Combining strong business analysis skills with practical ERP and enterprise applications experience, you'll work closely with teams across manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, finance and other business functions.
This is a role for someone who enjoys both understanding how a business works and getting involved in the systems that make it work. You'll investigate problems, configure applications, improve workflows, test changes and help deliver solutions that make a real difference to our teams.
You'll be part of our collaborative Enterprise Technology team, supporting SYOS's growing global operations. You'll have the opportunity to take ownership of meaningful system improvements, work directly with the people who use our technology and see the impact of your work as our manufacturing and global operations expand.
What you'll get to do
- Implement and improve enterprise systems: Support the implementation, configuration and optimisation of our enterprise applications, including Odoo ERP and other systems supporting manufacturing and business operations.
- Support manufacturing and operational processes: Work with teams to improve how systems support procurement, inventory, production planning, manufacturing, quality and supply chain activities.
- Turn business needs into working solutions: Understand requirements, map processes, identify root causes and translate business needs into effective system improvements.
- Get hands-on with systems: Investigate and resolve application issues, configure workflows, troubleshoot data problems, test changes and support system upgrades and releases.
- Maintain secure and controlled systems: Help manage application access, permissions and configuration changes in line with security requirements, change-control processes and auditability expectations.
- Improve data and integrations: Help maintain accurate, reliable information across our systems, investigate data issues and support reporting and integrations between applications.
- Support and empower our people: Help colleagues use systems effectively through practical support, training, documentation and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to a growing technology environment: Work alongside the wider team to improve how we manage, support and develop our systems as our operations scale.
What you'll bring
Hands-on enterprise systems experience: Around three or more years working directly with business-critical applications, including configuration, application support, troubleshooting, implementation or continuous improvement.
ERP and operational process knowledge: Practical ERP experience and a sound understanding of procurement, inventory, production planning, manufacturing or supply chain processes. Experience supporting manufacturing operations is strongly preferred.
Strong business analysis skills: Experience working with stakeholders to understand and map processes, gather requirements, investigate problems and translate business needs into practical system solutions.
Practical problem-solving ability: Confidence independently investigating system issues, identifying root causes and taking ownership of solutions through to implementation.
Security and compliance awareness: Experience working with business systems in regulated, security-sensitive or compliance-driven environments, with an understanding of information protection, access controls, auditability and controlled change.
Data and integration awareness: An understanding of how information flows between enterprise applications and the importance of data integrity, accuracy and traceability.
A collaborative, team-first approach: Strong communication skills, attention to detail and a genuine willingness to share knowledge, support colleagues and work effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
You'll be comfortable working in a growing international business where priorities can evolve, including occasional collaboration outside standard UK business hours.
Nice to have
- Experience in any of the following areas would be valuable, but you don't need to tick every box:
- Direct experience supporting manufacturing systems or ERP processes.
- Experience implementing or improving ERP modules, particularly in manufacturing, inventory, procurement or production environments.
- Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), engineering change control or product configuration systems.
- Aerospace, defence, advanced manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, medical devices or other highly regulated industries.
- Experience working with export-controlled or otherwise sensitive technical information.
- Atlassian Jira, Jira Service Management and Confluence.
- Quality Management Systems (QMS), CRM, HRIS or other enterprise applications.
- Knowledge of APIs, middleware, or enterprise system integrations.
- Experience supporting application upgrades, releases, implementations, user training, or technology projects.
Security Requirement
To be eligible for this role, you must be able to meet the Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). This includes confirming your identity, legal right to work in the UK, recent employment history, and criminal record (unspent convictions only).
The SYOS Mindset
Curious people. Big ideas. No egos. A team that gets things done.
We move quickly, embrace challenges and believe the best solutions come from people who work well together. We're looking for people who:
Roll up their sleeves: Enjoy getting into the detail, solving problems and making things happen.
Work as one team: Share ideas, support colleagues and value collective success over individual recognition.
Stay curious: Ask questions, learn new systems and look for better ways of doing things.
Take ownership: Follow problems through, take pride in their work and deliver what they commit to.
Think practically: Find solutions that work for the people who use our systems while respecting the controls that protect our business.
Adapt and grow: Are comfortable learning, contributing and working through change.
You won't be expected to know every system from day one. What matters is your practical experience, ability to learn, approach to problem-solving and the way you work with others.
If you enjoy connecting people, processes and technology, and want to help build the systems behind a growing global aerospace business, we'd love to hear from you.
Come build with us. Challenge us. Grow with us.
