Production Workers – Meat Processing

Auckland Meat Processors is looking for reliable and hardworking Production Workers to join our team.

We process and further-process red meat for the New Zealand market. The work is hands-on, physical and fast-paced. Depending on your experience and the needs of the plant, you may work in slaughter, boning, packing, further processing, chillers or dispatch.

What you’ll be doing

Packing, sorting, weighing and storing meat products

Preparing cartons, crates and other packaging

Checking products against quality requirements

Handling product and materials safely

Using knives, machinery or processing equipment where trained and authorised

Keeping your work area clean and hygienic

Following food safety, animal welfare and workplace safety procedures

Working with your team to meet daily production targets

Completing other reasonable production duties as required

What we’re looking for

A reliable person who turns up on time and is ready to work

A positive attitude and willingness to learn

The ability to work safely in a busy production environment

Good teamwork and communication

The ability to follow instructions and workplace procedures

A reasonable level of physical fitness, including the ability to stand for long periods and complete repetitive manual work

Flexibility to work across different departments when required

Previous meat-processing, manufacturing, food-production or knife-handling experience is useful but not essential

What you can expect

Full training for the work you are assigned

Full-time work, generally Monday to Friday

Overtime may be available depending on production requirements

This work may involve cold environments, wet areas, animal products, machinery, knives, manual handling and repetitive tasks. Applicants must be comfortable working in a meat-processing environment and following strict hygiene and safety standards.
