Experienced Chef

We are seeking a passionate, skilled, and reliable Experienced Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years’ hands-on experience in a professional kitchen and a solid understanding of food preparation, presentation, and hygiene standards. You will play a key role in maintaining high culinary standards while contributing to a positive kitchen environment.

Key Responsibility

• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes to a high standard, following recipes and presentation guidelines
• Ensure all food is cooked and presented in a timely and consistent manner
• Assist with menu development, daily specials, and new recipe testing
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and kitchen areas
• Monitor food stock levels and assist with inventory control and ordering
• Follow all health and safety regulations, including HACCP and food hygiene standards

Train and mentor junior kitchen staff as needed

Work collaboratively with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure guest satisfaction

Adapt quickly to changing needs during busy service periods

Personal Specification

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a commercial kitchen or professional culinary setting
• Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, cooking techniques, and food safety standards
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure
• Excellent knife skills and attention to detail
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented with a strong work ethic
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays
• Culinary certification or formal training (preferred but not required)

Mandatory

Must have a current National Police Check issued by Queensland Police or able to obtain one within three weeks of commencing employment- for all live on Island staff. Employees whose duties include driving a company vehicle, must hold a current QLD Driver’s License.
