Experienced Dairy Assistant

Wairau Valley - near Blenheim

We’re looking for an experienced and reliable Farm Assistant to join our team on a large-scale dairy operation milking .This role would suit someone with 2–3+ years’ dairy farming experience who is confident working independently, takes pride in their work, and is keen to be part of a hardworking, supportive team.

The Role

Day-to-day responsibilities will include

• Milking and general cowshed duties
• Bringing cows to and from the shed
• Feeding out and confident tractor operation
• Setting up, shifting and maintaining K-Line irrigation
• Identifying and assisting with sick, lame or injured stock
• General stock work and animal health
• Fencing and general farm maintenance
• Assisting with other day-to-day farm operations as required
• About You

We’re looking for someone who

• Has at least 2–3 years of practical NZ dairy farming experience
• Is capable and confident milking cows
• Is competent operating tractors and feeding out
• Has practical experience with K-Line irrigation
• Has good stockmanship and animal welfare standards
• Is reliable, honest and has a strong work ethic
• Can work both independently and as part of a team
• Communicates well and takes responsibility for their work
• Holds a current driver licence
• Is able to pass a pre-employment drug test
