Farm Labourer

Duties

Assist with planting, watering, fertilizing, and harvesting crops using appropriate tools and techniques

Operate irrigation systems to ensure optimal water distribution across fields and garden areas

Maintain and repair farm equipment and machinery with mechanical knowledge and hand tools

Perform heavy lifting tasks such as moving soil, plants, or harvested produce safely and efficiently

Support gardening activities including pruning, weeding, mulching, and soil preparation

Conduct routine inspections of crops and farm infrastructure to identify issues early

Follow safety protocols during all activities to ensure a secure working environment

Qualifications

Basic understanding of horticulture principles and gardening techniques

Experience or familiarity with irrigation systems is preferred but not required

Mechanical knowledge or experience with farm machinery is advantageous

Ability to use hand tools safely and effectively for various tasks

Good basic math skills for measuring, calculating quantities, and managing supplies

Physical stamina for heavy lifting, standing, bending, and working outdoors in various weather conditions

Strong work ethic with attention to detail and a proactive attitude toward learning new skills

Pay: $18.25 per hour
