Farm Worker
Job Description
Duties may include: Perform routine agricultural labor to support daily farm operations involving crop production, field maintenance, irrigation assistance, harvesting, and general farm upkeep. Assist with planting, cultivating, and harvesting crops. Perform hand weeding and general field cleanup. Mow grass and vegetation in farm and orchard areas. Assist with irrigation activities and report leaks or problems to supervisors. Load, unload, and move agricultural materials and supplies. Clean and maintain work areas, tools, and equipment. Perform other general farm labor as assigned. Previous agricultural experience required. Willingness to perform outdoor manual labor in varying weather conditions. Ability to follow supervisor instructions and work as part of a team & other related Farm Worker activities as per SOC/OES 45-2092 (onetonline.org).
Possible weekend/holiday work.
The employer may choose to pay experienced workers, regardless of origin, more than the published minimum wage rate. See attached Addendum C.
Requirements: 3 months of experience. Must be 18 years of age. Worker has 3 days from date of hire to show proof of legal authorization to work in the United States. Drug/alcohol/tobacco free work zone. Static strength; exert max muscle force to lift, push, pull, unload, carry objects up to 125lbs (possible 2-person); may climb, walk, stand, reach, balance, sit, stoop, bend, squat, wash, clean: equip, grounds, area. All applicants must be able, willing and qualified to perform work described and must be available for the entire period specified and work throughout all areas of intended employment. Variable weather conditions may apply. Employer's discretion/cost: Worker may have random drug/alcohol testing during employment: positive test/refusal to abide = dismissal. Post-accident: Testing workers involved in an on-the-job accident or safety incident to see if drugs or alcohol contributed to the event.
