Food Service Assistant

TU Dublin Rathdown House- Full time

As a Food Service Assistant at TU Dublin Rathdown House, you'll support the smooth day-to-day delivery of catering services across the campus. You'll assist with food preparation, service, cleaning, and customer care while helping to create a welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. What you'll do:

Assist with the preparation and presentation of food in line with company standards.

Serve food and beverages in a professional, friendly and efficient manner.

Operate tills and handle customer transactions where required.

Replenish food displays, counters and service areas throughout the day.

Maintain high standards of cleanliness in dining areas, kitchens and food preparation areas.

Wash dishes, utensils and catering equipment using manual and mechanical cleaning methods.

Follow all food hygiene, allergen and Health & Safety procedures.

Assist with receiving and storing food deliveries correctly.

Monitor stock levels and notify supervisors of replenishment requirements.

Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure efficient service during busy periods.

Support the wider catering team with additional duties as required.

What you'll bring:

Previous experience working in a food handling environment

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Reliable, punctual and flexible with working hours.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Good attention to detail.

Commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety.
