About the role

We are seeking experienced Foremen and Carpenters for our upcoming project of a High End Architectural Residence in Wanaka. This is a full-time position that offers the opportunity to work on significant building projects in a growing region. The Foreman role will provide strategic leadership on-site, ensuring the project is delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Carpenter positions will focus on delivering skilled carpentry work. This is an excellent opportunity for those looking for long term work in the Wanaka area.

Key responsibilities

For Foremen:

Overseeing all on-site construction activities and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations

Managing project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation

Coordinating with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure seamless project delivery

Conducting daily tool box meetings and site inspections

Maintaining accurate site records, progress reports, and documentation

Mentoring and supervising carpenter and labour team members

Problem-solving and making site-level decisions to keep projects on track

For Carpenters:

Performing skilled carpentry work including framing, joinery, and finishing

Reading and interpreting building plans and specifications

Operating hand and power tools safely and efficiently

Maintaining high standards of workmanship and attention to detail

Collaborating with other trades and team members on-site

Contributing to a safe and professional work environment

Adhering to all health and safety protocols and site procedures

What we're looking for

For Foremen:

Minimum 10 years' experience in the building trades with at least 5 years in a supervisory or foreman role

Proven track record of successfully managing construction projects from start to completion

Current, valid New Zealand site supervisor or equivalent qualification

Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations (Health and Safety at Work Act 2015)

Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

Ability to read and interpret building plans and specifications

Current driver's licence

Willingness to work in the Wanaka area

For Carpenters:

Minimum 5 years' experience as a qualified carpenter

Trade qualification or apprenticeship in carpentry

Proficiency with hand and power tools

Ability to read and interpret building plans

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

Current, valid driver's licence

Knowledge of health and safety best practices

Willingness to work in the Wanaka area

* Current First Aid certification (preferred)
