Foreman / Site Supervisor | Fencing

$35-$40 per hour | Christchurch based | Full-time | Some travel around the South Island

We're looking for an experienced Foreman / Site Supervisor to join a busy fencing business working across a huge variety of residential and commercial projects. No two jobs are quite the same, with work ranging from rural and farming fencing through to subdivisions, boundary fencing, gates, pool fencing and more.

The role

This is a hands-on supervisory role. You'll still be out on site and involved in the day-to-day work, while taking responsibility for keeping the job moving and coordinating the team around you.

Run sites day to day and keep projects on track

Read and work from plans

Lead and coordinate a small team

Get involved on site and help keep work moving

Allocate tasks and keep the crew motivated

Organise materials, tools and equipment

Work through any issues that come up on site

Work with clients, suppliers and the wider team

Take responsibility for seeing jobs through to completion

You'll be working with a wide range of fencing types and materials, so we're looking for someone who enjoys variety and is comfortable getting stuck in across different types of work.

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone with solid site experience who understands construction and is comfortable taking the lead while still being hands-on. You'll ideally have a background in building, construction or a related trade, experience reading plans and previous experience leading a team. Good communication, organisation and a practical approach are important, along with the ability to work well with different people and keep things moving on site.

You don't need specific fencing qualifications for this role. What matters is having the hands-on experience and knowledge to step into the role confidently.
