\r\n\r\nJob Description\r\n \r\n\r\nAs the leader of the FSQA team, the FSQA Manager – Cut up and Packaging is accountable for the development and execution of the Food Safety and Quality Assurance programs. The FSQA Manger is a key member of the facility management teams and is responsible for driving continuous improvement in a faced paced and demanding environment.  Additionally, the FSQA Manager will establish and maintain positive relationships with regulatory bodies.  Approximately 5 FSQA direct reports. \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nAny MLF team member interested in being considered for this role are encouraged to apply online by October 15. Applications received beyond that date are not guaranteed consideration.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nReason for vacancy:  Existing Headcount\r\nCompensation:   $96,000 - $141,000 CAD base pay annually plus annual short-term incentive\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nThe above compensation reflects the target compensation for the position at the time of posting. The base salary offered may vary based on a variety of factors including skills, experience, education, training, job- related knowledge, and other organizational requirements. For part-time roles, salaries are adjusted according to scheduled hours.  In addition to base salary, this role is eligible to participate in Maple Leaf’s annual short-term incentive plan. \r\n \r\n\r\nSnapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n\r\n\tEnsure effective execution of all FSQA programs (HACCP system and BRC requirements) to meet corporate and customer food safety strategy & quality standards as well as all regulatory requirements (CFIA, Health Canada, USDA, FDA, etc.).\r\n\tAbility to foster a developing a constructive and positive work environment through excellent interpersonal, team building skills, open communications, encouraging input and constructive performance management\r\n\tLead internal and external audits (BRC, customers, CFIA, etc.).\r\n\tUsing fact-based analysis, provide recommendations to continuously improve the facility quality and food safety systems.\r\n\tLead, coach and develop various FSQA team members.\r\n\tRecommend and implement process improvements within the department or facility.\r\n\tAccountable for hold and release activities related to pathogens test programs, non-conformance situations, etc.\r\n\tEnsure timely resolution of necessary corrective action items associated with all audits or CFIA concerns.\r\n\tBuild and advance relationships with CFIA and other external organizations.\r\n\tSupport or lead change management activities related to existing and new processes, programs and/or systems.\r\n\tLead facility activities during any potential product recalls.\r\n\tActively participate in facility leadership meetings.\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nWhat You’ll Bring:\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n\r\n\tSolid understanding and experience with Modern Poultry Inspection System (MPIP)\r\n\tSolid understanding of Animal Welfare best practices\r\n\tUniversity degree or college diploma preferably in Chemistry, Microbiology, Food Science or a related discipline.\r\n\tMinimum 5 years of experience leading a high performing team in a food manufacturing facility.\r\n\tAbility to leverage exceptional interpersonal, communication to develop productive internal and external relationships.\r\n\tProven ability to influence stakeholders to achieve desired results.\r\n\tEnergetic and positive leadership style.\r\n\tExcellent observation and problem-solving skills.\r\n\tProven ability to coach for high performance. \r\n\tStrong systems skills (including MS Office and SAP).\r\n\tAbility to work effectively on a cross functional leadership team.\r\n\tExperience thriving in an ever-changing, fast-paced environment.\r\n\tDemonstrated alignment to the Maple Leaf Leadership Values.\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nWhat We Offer at Maple Leaf Foods:\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n\r\n\tBeing part of a high-performance, people-focused company that has an inspiring and unique vision to become the most sustainable protein company on earth, and a deep commitment to sustainable protein across North America.\r\n\tAn inclusive company culture and a work environment that keeps our people safe, rewards excellence, and empowers everyone to learn and contribute their best. \r\n\tCompetitive Health and Wellness benefits that offer flexibility to meet your individual or family needs, including programs focused on improving mental health and wellbeing.
