**Garden Centre Site Manager - Sherwood Park, Alberta (Seasonal / Full-time)**

If you enjoy plants and working with people, this job could be ideal for you. A Garden Centre Site Manager is needed for the Sherwood Park, Alberta. This position is representing Van Belle Retail Solutions at our big box retail client. This is an 8-10 week seasonal full time position.

The goal for this role is to be the point person for the Warehouse Managers, Hiring and Training your Staff, Scheduling. Executing a clean, organized Garden Centre while maximizing sales. This position reports to the Operations Manager.

**Job Description**

• This role involves working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions. Please come prepared with appropriate clothing or gear to help you stay comfortable throughout your shift.
• This role is physically active and includes tasks such as lifting items up to 25 lbs on occasion and standing for extended periods while wearing safety footwear.
• Have a clear understanding of the retail stores Policies and the Staff Training Document.
• Managing the staff, so they know expectations of them. Review training documents with them.
• Ensuring the Daily tasks are complete, addressing any issues with incomplete tasks.

Be in the warehouse 5 days a week (to include one weekend day). These are top sales days and we need real time updates.

Be the Point person on communication between Van Belle and the Warehouse Managers.

• Walk the Garden Centres and look for Daily task completion

**Compensation**

• **Pay Rate:** $25.00 - $28.00 per hour.

**You are looking for:**

• Ability to Organize, Prioritize tasks, Hire, interview and schedule staff.

Ability to reset/Merchandise the layout of the Garden Centre - product that should be moved to better locations to increase sales.

Ability to report daily on Returns, staff labour budget and sales.

Someone comfortable working outdoors, on your feet for a full shift.

**Qualifications:**

• Experience managing a team – 3 years
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Strong skills using technology such as smart phones and google suite
• Horticulture/ personal gardening and/or merchandising experience an asset

**Job Type: Seasonal / Full-time**

• Full time 40 hours per week
• Seasonal 8-10 weeks
