The Opportunity

We’re looking for a commercially minded, people-focused General Manager to lead our Queenstown businesses and help shape their future.

Reporting to the CEO, you’ll be responsible for Million Dollar Cruise, our year-round sightseeing cruise, and Canyon Explorers, our seasonal canyoning business. You’ll also play a key role in developing and launching new experiences, including a proposed year-round zipline (subject to approvals).

This is a hands-on leadership role with real autonomy. You’ll be supported by RCT Group’s centralised sales, marketing, finance and administration teams, while taking responsibility for the success of the Queenstown businesses.

These are small businesses with great people and distinct cultures. You’ll enjoy being close to the action, value the people around you and be ready to roll up your sleeves when needed.

What You’ll Do

Lead, support and develop our teams, and build a workplace where people feel valued and proud of what they do.

Respect the unique character of each business while building connection and collaboration across the group.

Oversee safe, efficient and consistently excellent day-to-day and seasonal operations.

Own financial performance, profitability and commercial results.

Grow local sales, tour group business and brand awareness throughout Queenstown.

Oversee safety and compliance across adventure activities, maritime and passenger transport operations, working alongside qualified specialists.

Work with the CEO to identify new opportunities, develop products and launch future experiences.

About You

You’ll bring

Proven experience leading teams and managing business operations.

A track record of building positive, high-performing workplace cultures.

Commercial acumen, including budgeting, financial performance and cost management.

A practical, hands-on leadership style and willingness to support frontline teams.

Experience in a safety-focused or regulated environment.

A proactive approach to sales, business development and relationship building.

Sound judgement, initiative and a strong sense of accountability.

Experience in tourism, adventure activities, maritime operations or managing multiple businesses would be an advantage, as would an established network within the Queenstown tourism industry.
