Mō tēnei tūranga mahi - About the role

The General Practitioner will provide medical services to Newtown Union Health Service (NUHS) patients in booked clinics, acute (same-day) presentations, and the occasional out-of-normal-hours rosters, or home visits (as required) to our high-needs patients. The position is permanent part-time (24-32 hours per week) largely based in our Newtown clinic, with some work to be scheduled at our other locations--Broadway Health Clinic (Strathmore Park) or Student Health and Counselling Centre (Massey University).

We are open to discuss locum arrangements if needed.

A Vocationally-registered General Practitioner with the RNZCGP (ideal but not required), with updated and valid APC

A GPEP2 and up (with updated and valid APC), working their way through their GP-registration, and looking at practices that fit their purpose

Passionate about primary care and working with disadvantaged communities.

Apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and its relevance to the health of Māori in Aotearoa New Zealand to your practice

Understands how differing health and socio-economic status of Māori and non-Māori, and other social determinants impact on health outcomes

Works to ensure services are delivered in a culturally safe, appropriate, and competent manner

* Interacts with patients in a way that acknowledges different cultural values
