Job Description

Put your construction materials testing expertise to work in a varied role where no two days are the same. We are seeking a capable Geotechnician to deliver accurate, efficient and high-quality testing services across laboratory and field environments in Kalgoorlie.

About the Role

You will test and analyse construction materials using destructive and non-destructive techniques, applying your technical knowledge and judgement with limited supervision. You will also support the development of Assistant Geotechnicians and Technical Assistants while maintaining safe, reliable and client-focused service.

Enjoy a consistent Monday-to-Friday schedule, with overtime available based on operational needs. The role also requires flexibility to work across Perth Metropolitan area and at site-based laboratories as needed.

What You Will Be Doing

Collect, log and prepare construction material samples for testing

Complete routine laboratory and field testing to relevant standards

Set up, calibrate and maintain testing equipment

Interpret work instructions, select suitable procedures and equipment, and follow client test requests

Analyse test data, prepare reports and issue completed results to customers

Book client jobs, send confirmations and communicate with clients

Maintain clean work areas and follow safe working practices

Report hazards and contribute to continuous laboratory improvement

Support and develop Assistant Geotechnicians and Technical Assistants

Qualifications

About You

Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques or a Civil Engineering qualification

Current unrestricted WA C Class driver's licence

Previous experience in a laboratory environment

Approved NATA Signatory status in rocks, aggregate, concrete or masonry
