About the role
A Glasshouse Crop Worker maintains and cares for glasshouse crops, ensuring health and safety compliance, performing crop maintenance tasks, monitoring for pests and disease, and maintaining hygiene standards across the glasshouse environment.
Key responsibilities
Maintain awareness of workplace hazards and adhere to all H&S procedures
Report damaged equipment or maintenance needs immediately
Store equipment and crates safely to prevent hazards
Report all incidents, near misses, or injuries promptly
Store cutting tools (such as snips) securely in pouches when not in use
Harvest the crops
Remove lower leaves, empty trusses, and unwanted shoots, as per training provided
Lower plants to accommodate new growth, as per training provided
Clip support twine to plants, as per training provided
Prune blossom clusters to the correct number of flowers for each variety, as per training provided
About you
Ability to identify pests and signs of disease, as per the training provided
Ability to operate electric trolleys safely, as per the training provided
Ability to apply sprays to glasshouse crops under supervision, as per the training provided
Ability to work closely with the glasshouse team and supervisors across various departments
