Tractor Operator – Outdoor Crop Production Team

About the role

Operate tractors and machinery safely and efficiently to support crop production, including cultivation, irrigation and maintenance tasks. Undertake spraying when trained, competent and directed. Maintain accurate records and uphold company processes for quality produce delivery.

Key responsibilities

Operate tractors and implements to approved standards safely and efficiently

Conduct pre-start checks and report faults to Manager or Maintenance

Perform regular cleaning and maintenance, including weekly major clean

Apply sprays per programme, Certified Handler direction and Growsafe rules when competent and authorised

Monitor weather for safe spray application

Record daily work including areas, hours, fuel, and sprays

Report crop issues (pests/disease) to Agronomist or Manager

Report hazards and property damage immediately

Assist with monthly chemical stocktake

Perform slug pelleting per SOP and assist with cultivation, irrigation and ground works

About you

Full Class 1 NZ Driver Licence (Class 2 training available)

Physical fitness to lift 15-20kg

Positive, proactive team attitude

Clear and timely communication

Tractor operation experience (desirable; training provided)

Chemical handling and Growsafe awareness (desirable; training provided)

Data recording skills (desirable; training provided)

Multi-tasking in horticulture (desirable; training provided)
