Global Logistics - Entry Level Operations Agent

About the role
This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking an entry-level position and looking to gain a foot in the door within the global logistics industry. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate movement of freight and information, while providing exceptional customer service. The Operations Agent may be required to rotate into any of the following operational departments: Import Air, Import Ocean, Transcon, Export Air, Export Ocean, Customs Brokerage Operations.
Key responsibilities
Receive documents, prepare shipments, route shipments, manage freight receipts, monitor shipments, and send status updates
Ensure accurate and timely data entry into operational systems, per KPI's and standards
Interact with internal and external customers, arranging shipment deliveries and meeting customer service standards
Ensure accurate and timely shipment processing and data entry
Work to ensure internal and external compliance regulations are met
Look for best practices to improve efficiency and productivity
Action shipment or account queries, ensuring effective follow up is performed
Ensure all emails are read, actioned, and responded to on the same day as received
Effective time management and prioritizing of assigned workload
Ensure all training is completed within the branch due date
About you
Global logistics industry knowledge an advantage but not a necessity
Good computer skills (e.g., MS Excel, MS Word)
Positive and willing to help attitude
Proactive approach to problem solving
High level of attention to detail
Team player
Fluent in English
