**Farleigh School is seeking an motivated and dedicated Groundsperson to join our skilled Grounds & Gardens team, helping to care for, and enhance our stunning school grounds.**

**This is a hands-on, outdoor role where no two days are the same. Working in all seasons, you'll take real pride in maintaining our beautiful environment to the highest standards. We're looking for someone who brings enthusiasm, reliability, and a genuine enjoyment of teamwork.**

• We are seeking an individual to work full-time, ideally all year round between 34 - 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday.
• However, for the right applicant with the necessary skills and experience, we are flexible regarding the number of weeks worked and will also consider alternative working patterns. Applicants are encouraged to outline their preferred working hours and pattern within their application.

**The ideal candidate will:**

• Have experience in a grounds maintenance
• Have basic knowledge of horticultural practices, lawn care
• Have an understanding of sports pitch preparation and line-marking
• Have experience using grounds machinery such as mowers, strimmers and tractors
• Have a good awareness of health and safety and safe working practices
• Be able to work as part of a team and on own initiative;
• Be self-motivating with the ability to multi-task;
• Have good interpersonal skills;
• Have an understanding of child protection and safeguarding requirements;
• Have excellent attention to detail and high professional standards.

**Particular Tasks & Responsibilities:**

• Carry out general grounds and pitch care tasks including mowing and spraying using the relevant machinery i.e. a triple ride on mower and chainsaw
• Set up sports pitches for games fixtures as directed by the Grounds Manager
• Assist the gardener with routine and seasonal tasks, including planting, watering, pruning, and general upkeep of outdoor areas as required.
• Driving school children to and from school in the school minibuses during term-time
• Assist with keeping the School litter free, tidy and clean, including the sweeping of paths
• Be available to help clear snow and ice, to enable the School to operate in a safe manner
• Attend training courses as directed
• Helping out with school events i.e. athletic events, fireworks, sports day etc
• Carry out other duties that are required, set out by the Grounds Manager
• Any other duties which may be assigned commensurate with the post and in keeping with the nature of the Prep school environment
