Job Description

Thomond Lodge Nursing Home is a purpose-built, 48-bed residential care facility providing respite, convalescent, and long-term care services.

The facility offers comfortable, fully furnished single-occupancy rooms with ensuite facilities, along with spacious communal areas designed to promote residents' comfort and well-being.

We are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Assistants to join our team and support the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff in providing quality care and support to residents.
• Support residents with daily personal care activities while promoting dignity, privacy, and independence.
• Assist residents with meals, refreshments, and nutritional requirements.
• Support residents with mobility and the appropriate use of mobility aids.
• Assist with resident transfers and accompany residents when required.
• Follow established infection prevention and control procedures.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents.
• Work collaboratively with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the clinical team or management.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Full QQI Level 5 qualification in Healthcare or a recognised Nursing Degree/Diploma.
• Minimum of 6 months of relevant experience in a healthcare or residential care setting.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• A caring, compassionate, and professional approach.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Reliability, flexibility, and a commitment to delivering quality care.
