HGV Coordinator
Job Description
HGV Coordinator - Fleet Operations
Location: Ballymount, Dublin
Working Pattern: Hybrid (3 days onsite / 2 days remote)
Permanent, Full-Time
Competitive base salary with annual performance bonus potential
Other benefits include AA insurance discounts and free membership, pension contributions, mobile and health insurance discounts, subsidised FlyFit gym membership, income protection and life cover, Bike-to-Work, an Employee Assistance Programme, and a Sports & Social Club.
We are looking for a proactive and organised HGV Coordinator to join our Fleet team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with vehicle or mechanical knowledge who enjoys supporting drivers, solving problems, and providing outstanding customer service.
This is not a workshop-based role. Instead, you will be the key point of contact for HGV drivers and customers, providing support over the phone when vehicle-related issues arise. Using your mechanical understanding, you will help identify potential faults, offer practical guidance, and coordinate the appropriate support to get vehicles back on the road as quickly as possible.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle inbound calls from HGV drivers and customers regarding vehicle-related issues.
- Use your vehicle or mechanical knowledge to help identify faults and provide initial guidance.
- Coordinate with workshops, service providers, and internal teams to resolve issues efficiently.
- Schedule vehicle servicing, inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
- Maintain accurate fleet records and compliance documentation.
- Monitor vehicle defects and ensure corrective actions are completed.
- Liaise with drivers, suppliers, workshops, and internal stakeholders.
- Support the day-to-day administration of the fleet operation.
- Ensure fleet activities meet operational and compliance requirements.
What We're Looking For
Experience in an HGV environment.
Good understanding of vehicle maintenance, defects, repairs, and fleet operations.
Confidence speaking with HGV drivers and customers over the phone.
Ability to ask the right questions and assess vehicle-related issues.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Excellent organisational and administrative abilities.
Comfortable using computer systems and managing multiple priorities.
Category C HGV Licence is desirable but not essential.
If you have a passion for vehicles, enjoy problem-solving, and are confident communicating with HGV drivers and customers, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today!
