HGV Mechanic

We are seeking 2 experienced and reliable HGV Mechanic to service, maintain, and repair heavy goods vehicles in line with manufacturer specifications, Irish road safety regulations, and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults in HGVs, trailers, and associated equipment.
• Carry out routine maintenance, servicing, and inspections in accordance with RSA (Road Safety Authority) guidelines.
• Repair and replace faulty parts, including engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, and exhaust systems.
• Use diagnostic equipment to identify vehicle faults accurately.
• Prepare vehicles for CVRT (Commercial Vehicle Roadworthiness Test) and ensure compliance with Irish road safety legislation.
• Maintain accurate service and repair records.
• Work with manufacturers’ manuals and technical data.
• Follow company health, safety, and environmental policies.
• Assist in breakdown recovery and roadside repairs when required.
• Keep workshop tools and equipment in safe working order.

Skills & Requirements

• Minimum 2 years’ experience working with heavy goods vehicles.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
• Ability to use modern diagnostic tools and software.
• Understanding of CVRT and Irish transport safety regulations.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Remuneration for this role is €36,605.00 per year based on 39 hours per week.
