Job Description
Karara Mining Limited (KML) is an Ansteel Group company formed as a joint venture with Gindalbie Metals Limited. Ansteel is one of the largest iron ore producers and steel makers in China. Located 200km south-east of Geraldton, Western Australia, Karara is the largest mining operation and the first major magnetite mine in the Mid-West. It produces a premium, high-grade concentrate product for export to steelmakers.
The opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to join our Perth team on a 6-month maternity leave contract.
In this role, you will provide day-to-day generalist HR support across KML Perth Office, Site and Port Operations, partnering closely with leaders and key stakeholders to deliver effective people solutions through building strong, trusted relationships with leaders and stakeholders, providing practical HR advice and support across a broad range of employee and organisational matters.
To be successful in the role, the following is essential:
Tertiary qualification in Human Resources
Demonstrated experience within the resource sector, with a strong incident investigation experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Ability to coach and mentor leaders
Good understanding of the Fair Work Act
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Strong time management and organisational skills
Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work with cross-functional working teams
To be eligible to apply for this role you must be legally permitted to work permanently in Australia.
Key responsibilities include:
Provide generalist HR advice and support to leaders
Ensure adherence to KML’s HR policies and procedures
Deliver leader training / coaching
Analyse HR data and provide recommendations for improvement
Prepare monthly reports for the leadership team
Coordinate the exit interview process and provide regular analysis of information collated
Complete the HR approval steps within the online workflow system
Facilitate HR investigations and recommend appropriate actions for resolution
Contribute to continuous improvement of HR processes
