Hydraulic Service Technician

About the role
You'll be the hands-on person keeping our customers' hydraulic equipment running, and helping us get new machines right. No two days are the same.
Key responsibilities
Fault-finding, repair and servicing of hydraulic systems on balers, compactors and other machinery, in our workshop and on customer sites
Planned maintenance: oil and filter changes, pressure testing, hose and seal replacement, cylinder and pump work
Diagnosing problems across hydraulic, electrical and control systems
Commissioning and testing new machines before and after delivery
Reading hydraulic schematics and recording work accurately
Working with our engineers to feed back what you see in the field, so we can improve our designs
About you
Proven experience with hydraulic (oil) systems: pumps, valves, cylinders, pressure and flow
Solid general mechanical maintenance skills
Able to read hydraulic circuit diagrams
Practical, methodical approach to fault-finding
Full NZ driver's licence (clean record preferred)
Right to work in New Zealand
Commitment to safe work practices
Trade qualification or equivalent (e.g. engineering, fitting/machining, mechanical or hydraulic certificate)
Experience with industrial hydraulic machinery

We're a small New Zealand engineering and fabrication business designing and building industrial machinery, including hydraulic balers, compactors, conveyors and related equipment. Our machines run in demanding recycling and waste environments, and we support them from design through to the field.
