We are currently seeking a skilled, permanent Welder & Fabricator to join our growing, impressive team.
The Opportunity & Package
This role will begin on an immediate client site project involving working away from home. Following the completion of this project, you may transition to long-term work based at our Head Office in Scunthorpe.
Base Rate: £19.50 per hour (Equivalent to £23.50/hr when combined with the overnight allowance)
Working Away Package: All accommodation is pre-booked and fully paid for by the company. You will also receive a daily meal allowance (£25/night) and a night allowance.
Daily allowance range from £5 - £10 when not away overnight.
Fridays: Early finish, fully paid.
Overtime: 1.4x base rate for all hours exceeding 40 hours.
Sunday Rate: 1.8x base rate for all Sunday hours.
Key Responsibilities
Read and interpret engineering drawings, isometrics, and technical specifications for pipework and structural fabrications.
Perform welding and plating activities using MAG, TIG, and MMA processes, including joint preparation, fit-up, and alignment.
Set up and maintain purge protection and bore cleanliness standards to ensure structural integrity.
Ensure critical weld parameters, root gaps, and dimensional tolerances are met to satisfy strict quality and code requirements.
Examine and test completed welds (visual inspection) to ensure they are defect-free, smooth, and functional.
Manage your own time effectively to meet production timelines safely in various workshop or site environments.
Adhere rigorously to Health and Safety standards, including the proper use of PPE and working safely in confined or elevated spaces.
Work collaboratively as part of a wider fabrication team to deliver orders on time.
Qualifications & Experience
Proven experience as a Welder/Fabricator within the heavy structural, energy, or utilities sectors.
Proficient in MAG, TIG, and MMA processes (relevant codings are highly desirable).
Ability to work independently using your own initiative to solve fabrication and fitting problems.
Willingness to work away for the initial phase of the role.
