At He Whānau Manaaki Kindergartens (WMK), we're proud to support over 135 kindergartens across the regions of Taranaki, Whanganui, Central Plateau, Horowhenua, Manawatū, Kāpiti, Porirua, Greater Wellington, Upper Hutt, Wairarapa and South Otago. We also offer a unique home-based service, Etu Ao, in Porirua and Levin, with a special focus on Pasific families.

Today, more than 6,000 children are part of the Whānau Manaaki kindergarten family, with an additional 150 children enrolled in our Etu Ao home-based programme. Together, we're building strong foundations for lifelong learning and wellbeing.

Nestled in the heart of Inglewood, Kohangamoa, Inglewood Kindergarten enjoys a welcoming community location surrounded by the natural beauty of rural and mountain landscapes. Conveniently situated close to local schools, parks, and community amenities, the kindergarten is well connected to the families and whānau it serves.

As an Enviroschools kindergarten, tamariki are encouraged to develop a sense of responsibility for the environment through sustainable practices, exploration, and meaningful connections with their local community. Its location provides rich opportunities for tamariki to engage with and contribute to the places and people around them.

Work Profile:

Part-time Teacher - Kindergarten 0.5FTE

20 hours per week

Monday: 11:45-1:45pm (2 hours)

Tuesday: 11:45-4:30pm (4:45)

Wednesday: 11:45-4:30 (4.45)

Thursday: 11:45-4:30 (4.45)

Friday: 11:30- 3:15 (3:45)

We are looking for an enthusiastic ECE kaiako who:

Supports tamariki social emotional competence, helping them to develop resilience, confidence and problem-solving skills.

Encourages exploration, sustainability, and connection to te Taiao, fostering a love of learning in the natural environment.

Implements teaching practices that are responsive to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and celebrate cultural diversity.

Thrives in a collaborative team environment, contributing ideas, having fun, engaging in reflective practice and ongoing professional growth

Demonstrates positivity, adaptability, and creativity, bringing warmth, and enthusiasm to the learning environment.
