Job Description

The Role

Based at our Nelson Processing Plant, this is more than a traditional IT support role. As an IT Support Analyst, you'll be the first point of contact for technology issues, providing hands-on support, resolving incidents, and keeping our on-site systems running smoothly. You'll support both office and production teams, working across a broad range of technologies while making a visible impact on day-to-day operations. You'll work closely with the wider Technology team in Christchurch while maintaining autonomy day-to-day on site.

Act as the first point of contact for IT incidents and service requests via phone, email, and in-person queries.

Log, prioritise, and manage tickets through the IT service management system.

Provide 1st and 2nd level support for hardware, software, network, and access issues.

Build, configure, and deploy laptops, desktops, and mobile devices.

Troubleshoot and resolve technology faults, escalating when required.

Support on-site equipment such as scanners, printers, handhelds, and production floor devices.

Manage user accounts, permissions, and access in line with company policies.

Maintain asset records, perform hardware audits, and assist with patching and updates.

Work with Infrastructure and Application teams to escalate issues and support project rollout.

Build strong relationships across the site and communicate technical information clearly to non‑technical users.

About You

You’ll bring practical IT skills, a customer‑focused mindset, and a proactive approach to supporting users and resolving technical issues.

1+ years' experience in an IT support, service desk, or technical support environment.

Strong understanding of operating systems, M365, and common business applications

Experience with device builds, deployments, imaging, and basic networking

Confident troubleshooting a range of hardware and software issues

Good awareness of security principles and cyber best practice

Self‑motivated with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively

Strong customer service focus and team‑oriented mindset

Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical info clearly

Positive, can‑do attitude with a willingness to learn

Please note that we are only considering candidates who are currently eligible to work in New Zealand.
