Junior Finance / Accountant Officer

Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Finance / Accountant Officer to join our finance team. In this role, you will support day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, and cost control processes tailored to the Oil & Gas industry. Utilizing Odoo ERP, you will work closely with senior accountants, procurement, and operational teams to ensure accurate transaction processing, cost tracking, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial & Operational Accounting (Odoo)
Record and maintain general ledger entries within Odoo, ensuring accurate coding of operating expenditures (OPEX) and capital expenditures (CAPEX).
Process vendor invoices, purchase orders (POs), and service entry sheets (SES) in Odoo in alignment with operational contracts.
Assist in tracking inventory, warehouse stocks, and fixed assets (e.g., operational equipment and spare parts) using Odoo’s Inventory and Asset modules.
Support payroll and attendance record processing within Odoo to ensure precise cost center allocation.
Assist with joint venture (JV) cost allocation, intercompany billing, and cash calls under Joint Operating Agreements (JOAs).
2. Reconciliations & Reporting
Perform monthly bank reconciliations, vendor balance reconciliations, and intercompany settlements in Odoo.
Assist senior staff in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with local regulations and IFRS/GAAP standards.
Monitor cash flows, petty cash, and routine payment runs through Odoo Accounting.
3. Compliance, Audit & Control
Ensure all financial transactions adhere to internal control policies, tax regulations, and energy sector statutory requirements.
Prepare supporting documentation, account schedules, and Odoo system reports for internal and external audits.
Assist with withholding tax (WHT), VAT/GST calculations, and statutory filings relevant to energy operations.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
Experience: 1–3 years of accounting or finance experience (experience or internships in Oil & Gas, EPC, energy, or logistics is a strong plus).
Technical Skills
- Hands-on experience with Odoo ERP (Accounting, Invoicing, Inventory, and Purchase modules).
- Proficiency in MS Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, data management).
- Industry Knowledge: Basic understanding of project accounting, cost centers, and inventory management.
- Languages: Business proficiency in English (oral and written).
Key Competencies

- Ability to work effectively across departments (engineering, procurement, HR, and operations).
- Strong time management skills and ability to meet strict monthly closing deadlines.
- Pay: £23,000.00-£25,000.00 per year
