Landscape Maintenance Supervisor

• Mace Landscape Group is looking for an experienced Landscape Maintenance Supervisor to oversee our maintenance teams and portfolios across Auckland’s North Shore.

• You’ll be working closely with our Team Leaders and Maintenance Manager to make sure our sites are running smoothly, work is completed to a high standard and our clients receive the level of service they expect.

About the role

This is a hands-on supervisory position. You won’t spend your week sitting behind a desk.

You’ll oversee a number of maintenance portfolios and provide onsite practical support alongside Team Leaders and crews when required, providing technical support and problem solving to ensure quality standards are consistently achieved. A key part of the position is planning and scheduling work across designated teams, while helping Team Leaders successfully manage their day-to-day runs.

Your responsibilities will include

• Supervising multiple landscape maintenance teams and portfolios
• Supporting and developing Team Leaders and their crews
• Planning and scheduling maintenance programmes
• Carrying out site inspections and maintaining high quality standards
• Providing hands-on horticultural and technical assistance when required
• Troubleshooting issues on site and helping teams find practical solutions
• Building positive relationships with clients and tenants
• Identifying opportunities for site enhancements and additional works
• Ensuring health & safety requirements are understood and followed
• Preparing site reports, client quotes and other operational administration
• Overseeing allocated vehicles, plant and equipment.

About you

We’re looking for someone who already has strong practical horticultural experience and is ready to take ownership across multiple teams and sites.

You’ll ideally have

At least four years' practical horticultural experience

A relevant Level 4 horticultural qualification or higher

Previous experience leading, supervising or training staff

Excellent organisational and time-management skills

A strong eye for detail and pride in producing quality work

Confidence communicating with clients, team members and management

Good written and verbal communication skills

Comfortable computer skills for scheduling, reporting and administration

A practical, solutions-focused approach to problems on site.

Experience with SimPRO would be useful but isn’t essential, as training can be provided. Maintenance Supervisor

Most importantly, you’ll be someone who leads from the front. You’ll be comfortable getting involved on site when needed, while also being able to step back, organise your teams and make sure the bigger picture is being taken care of.
