Maintenance Assistant

Rugby School Estates Department is responsible for maintaining and developing the school’s historic Estate to the highest standards.

The role will be predominantly based on reactive maintenance with a good focus on general repairs, including, repointing, slab work, fencing and decoration. There will also be a strong focus on general repairs across campus such as minor plumbing and handyman duties.

Other duties will include PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance), assisting on the van carrying out minor portering and supporting our Handyperson team, and other members of the team, with reactive and planned works. There may be a need, from time to time, to assist with jobs at Bilton Grange, a member of the Rugby School group.

A great deal of time will be spent utilising the schools’ maintenance system via an iPad. This will involve managing reactive and PPM tasks through to completion, uploading certification and adhering to the SLA’s (Service Level Agreements) for us to maintain compliance in all areas. The successful candidate must have a good understanding of the importance of carrying out planned maintenance.
