Join us and help build a better future.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nPosition Summary\r\nThe Maintenance Helper supports general facility and equipment maintenance at the Bradford facility, primarily on night shift, reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor and Department Manager.\r\n\r\n\r\nThis role assists with routine maintenance, inspections, preventative work, cleaning, troubleshooting, and repairs to help keep the facility safe, clean, reliable, and operational.\r\nThe successful candidate is hands-on, self-motivated, and able to work independently while escalating issues when needed.\r\n\r\n\r\nResponsibilities:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tComplete facility repairs, upkeep, inspections, and minor maintenance with minimal supervision.\r\n\tSupport equipment troubleshooting, repairs, preventative maintenance, and safe restarts.\r\n\tAssist skilled trades and perform basic mechanical tasks as trained and authorized.\r\n\tInspect equipment, building systems, and facility areas; report issues and follow-up needs.\r\n\tSupport production maintenance, including changeovers, startups, shutdowns, and breakdowns.\r\n\tMaintain clean, safe, and organized work areas, tools, shops, and parts storage.\r\n\tIdentify parts, tools, and materials needed; report shortages.\r\n\tFollow drawings, manuals, procedures, instructions, and sketches.\r\n\tEscalate skilled-trade, safety, or unresolved equipment concerns as required.\r\n\tSupport seasonal, grounds, and building system tasks as needed.\r\n\tRespond to night-shift maintenance calls based on safety and production priorities.\r\n\tRecommend improvements to reliability, safety, housekeeping, efficiency, and maintenance practices.\r\n\tDocument work, parts, equipment issues, root causes, and follow-up actions.\r\n\tFollow Lockout/Tagout, GMP, HACCP, WHMIS, environmental, and Health & Safety requirements.\r\n\tCommunicate repairs, downtime, concerns, handovers, and outstanding work clearly.\r\n\tBuild positive working relationships and participate in training.\r\n\tPerform other duties as assigned.\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nEssential Qualifications\r\n\r\n\r\n\t1–3 years of related maintenance experience in an industrial, facility, manufacturing, or similar environment.\r\n\tFood manufacturing experience is an asset.\r\n\tBasic mechanical aptitude and safe use of common hand and power tools.\r\n\tBasic knowledge of mechanical/electrical equipment and issue identification.\r\n\tAble to troubleshoot basic maintenance issues and escalate when needed.\r\n\tAble to read basic drawings, manuals, work instructions, and procedures.\r\n\tSelf-motivated team player able to work independently with minimal supervision.\r\n\tStrong problem-solving, communication, organization, and attention to detail.\r\n\tModerate computer skills, including electronic work-order/maintenance systems.\r\n\tAble to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.\r\n\tKnowledge of Health & Safety; GMP, HACCP, WHMIS, and food manufacturing requirements are assets.\r\n\tAble to work nights, weekends, overtime, and statutory holidays as required.\r\n\tComfortable working in a cold, wet, noisy, industrial environment.\r\n\tPhysically able to stand, walk, lift, bend, climb stairs/ladders, and work throughout the facility.\r\n\tValid driver’s license.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nWhat’s in it for you?\r\n\r\n\r\n\t$25.10 per hour\r\n\tShift Premium\r\n\tCompetitive Wages & Benefits\r\n\tHuman Resources, Health & Safety and Food Safety training provided\r\n\tReputable company and brands\r\n\tOpportunities to participate in Benefits and Pension plans\r\n\tGreat team environment\r\n\tStrong focus on internal advancement and development\r\n\tEmployee Assistance Program & Mental Health Resources\r\n\tEmployee events throughout the year\r\n\tMaple Leaf employee discount sales on poultry products\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n
