As a team we create great tasting quality products and are looking for more great people like YOU! \r\n\r\nWe are currently accepting applications for our Millwright position.\r\n\r\nIn a unionized environment, the Maintenance department at Maple Leaf Foods operates with a concept of a team environment to ensure plant efficiencies. As part of Maple Leaf Food’s Maintenance team, the individual will be responsible for maintaining and servicing equipment used in the facility for the daily production of our products. Maple Leaf Foods conducts a comprehensive wage survey each year to ensure our rates are competitive. Please note that this role operates a rotating shift schedule (excluding nights). Our rate is $46.08. \r\n \r\n\r\nSnapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n\r\n\tMust be able to install, troubleshoot, and repair complex production equipment with minimal supervision\r\n\tOperate production equipment and check performance as required\r\n\tStrong on PM (preventative maintenance) procedures\r\n\tCarry out oral/printed work requests and apply corrective action\r\n\tPerform regular work orders and account for inventory and labor on a computerized maintenance program\r\n\tBe able to read and understand mechanical drawings/schematics\r\n\tMachining and fabricating for equipment repairs and/or upgrades\r\n\tEnhance equipment performance, recommending improvements and implementing\r\n\tUnderstand and adhere to all plant Food Safety and Health and Safety Polices\r\n\tEnsure all job-related operations are in compliance with GMPs, HACCP, WHMIS and health & safety requirements\r\n\tPerform other duties as assigned\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nWhat You’ll Bring:\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n\r\n\tMust hold a valid Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Journeyperson Certificate \r\n\t1 – 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment would be an asset\r\n\tExtensive mechanical knowledge including power transmission, pneumatics and hydraulics\r\n\tKnowledge of conveyors, industrial/stationary engines, pumps/compressor, grinders, welding equipment, electrical/electronic controls, lathes/machining tools, power tools, fans/blowers, hydraulic systems and high-speed packaging equipment\r\n\tHighly motivated – able to work well in a team and alone with minimal supervision\r\n\tSense of urgency and attention to detail\r\n\tSome heavy lifting may be required\r\n\tBasic computer ability coupled with strong communication skills\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nWhat We Offer at Maple Leaf Foods:\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n\r\n\tAnnual tool allowance\r\n\tWeekend shift premium \r\n\tReimbursement for license renewal\r\n\tEligible for company paid health and dental benefits after 950 hours of employment (including medical, dental, life insurance, and disability)\r\n\tCompany pension plan\r\n\tBi-weekly pay\r\n\tOpportunity for over-time\r\n\tEmployee Staff Sales Program\r\n\tEmployee Referral Program\r\n\r\n
