Maintenance Planner - Operations and Field Services

About the role

As a Maintenance Planner, you will be the link between strategy and execution — turning maintenance priorities, technical requirements and operational needs into clear, achievable plans for field teams.

About you

Experience in maintenance or operations planning, ideally within heavy industry, utilities, mining services or power generation.

Strong working knowledge of preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance practices.

Confidence using CMMS/ERP systems, MS Project, Excel and other scheduling tools.

Ability to forecast labour, materials, contractors and long-lead items to support effective execution.

Strong communication skills and the ability to build credibility with field teams, clients, engineers and contractors.

Highly organised, proactive and comfortable balancing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Safety-focused, with an understanding of WHS requirements, permit systems, isolations and safe work practices.

Ability to interpret technical documentation, OEM requirements and maintenance strategies.

What you’ll be doing

Plan and schedule maintenance, breakdown and preventive maintenance activities in line with operational priorities.

Develop short-term and long-term maintenance plans aligned to asset strategies, reliability goals and contractual requirements.

Coordinate labour, contractor, material and equipment requirements to support effective field execution.

Update schedules in response to work progress, plant conditions, access constraints and changing operational needs.

Liaise with operations, maintenance, engineering, clients and contractors to keep plans accurate and achievable.

Build permit, isolation, access, procurement and system dependency requirements into maintenance plans.

Monitor schedule progress and report on time, cost, risk and milestone impacts.

Support outage and shutdown planning, including tender schedules, execution plans and risk mitigation.
