Management Accountant

Role and responsibilities

Prepare monthly management accounts, KPI and variance reports for directors and management. Lead budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow analysis, including labour-cost and working-capital monitoring. Prepare contract costing, tender pricing and profitability analysis, including payroll, statutory on-costs. Reconcile billing, payroll and general ledger data and investigate discrepancies. Manage month-end journals, accruals, prepayments, reconciliations and support statutory accounts, VAT and PAYE/NIC reporting. Maintain financial controls, audit trails and compliance records, and accreditation requirements. Work with operations, HR and account managers on financial performance, pricing and cost control, and improve accounting/reporting processes.

Skills and experience

Qualified or part-qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA, or equivalent accounting qualification/experience. Strong management accounting, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and contract-costing experience. Knowledge of UK GAAP, VAT, corporation tax, payroll, NMW/NLW, pension and employment costs. Experience with Excel Understanding of BS 7858, ISO 9001 or similar compliance frameworks desirable. Strong analytical, commercial, communication and financial-control skills.

Pay: £50,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
