Manufacturing Engineer

TMC Trailers is one of New Zealand's leading heavy transport engineering companies, specialising in the manufacture, repair and servicing of truck trailers and bodies. Established in 1948, we have manufactured over 4,600 trailers and operate from three sites across New Zealand.

We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at our Christchurch manufacturing plant.

This is an opportunity to work with a variety of new trucks and trailers as part of an established New Zealand manufacturing business.

About the role

The key duties of the position include the following:

Creating and updating procedures/task instructions/checklists for the manufacture of TMC products

Managing improvement initiatives across manufacturing workshops

Investigating process issues and implementing corrective actions

Documenting any material quality, design, lack of information issues and providing structured feedback and ideas on how best to improve the tasks to relevant areas of the business.

Creation of operating procedures and maintenance/service guides for TMC products.

Providing technical guidance and support to manufacturing teams

Coordinating between design and manufacturing teams

About you

We are looking for someone who has good attention to detail, enjoys problem solving and has a good understanding of mechanical manufacturing processes.

Ideally, you will have

• Tertiary qualification in mechanical engineering
• Experience in a manufacturing environment
• Good attention to detail and a strong focus on quality.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• A reliable, motivated and hardworking attitude.
• The ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• A strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
