Media Associate - Mandarin

• You'd support Web Summit’s media and communications team in building relationships with
• Chinese journalists and media organisations, particularly across Mainland China, Hong
• Kong, Taiwan and other Chinese-speaking markets.
• The ideal candidate is a bilingual PR/media professional who understands both Chinese and
• Western media, can build relationships with journalists, identify stories that will resonate with
• Chinese audiences, and turn Web Summit's speakers, partners, startups and technology
• stories into coverage.

Skills

• Native Mandarin Speaker - you are fluent, comfortable and confident in
• communicating in both Mandarin and English.
• You have a strong understanding of the Chinese media landscape and the Chinese
• technology/business ecosystem.
• You’re familiar with platforms such as WeChat, Weibo, Douyin, Xiaohongshu, Zhihu
• and other Chinese social media platforms, and are comfortable creating compelling
• Chinese-language posts, short-form video concepts, social campaigns and editorial
• content.

You’re creative, confident and articulate: a clear communicator with excellent

• presentation and interpersonal skills
• You’re an adaptable and resourceful individual who can work to tight deadlines under
• pressure
• You’re a strategic thinker with a proven track record of planning, executing and
• evaluating activity on a long-term basis
• You’re an excellent team player, but with the ability to work on your own initiative
• You’re confident using AI tools and data to help manage and focus your work
• You have previous experience dealing with media - as a journalist, or in relevant PR
• or marketing functions.
• You have a strong attention to detail in everything you do
