Medical Engineering Technician
Job Description
Communication
Provide technical information and feedback to clinical users on the service and repair of equipment.
Communicate with equipment suppliers and manufacturers regarding maintenance and repair of medical equipment.
Collaborate with other technical staff in the maintenance of medical equipment.
Clinical
Attend clinical areas to carry out routine maintenance of medical equipment, either alone or with colleagues
Quality Control
Adhere to the processes and procedures as described in the quality manual.
Comment on proposed changes to departmental policies and procedures.
Records
Accurately and clearly record work done on the medical equipment management database.
Check that information provided on equipment is correct, that procedures for adding and updating information is followed and any anomalies are reported to the team leader.
Time Management
Plans own workload and prioritises breakdown requests allocated to self.
Organises routine maintenance duties allocated to self.
Physical
Assist with the movement and transport of equipment and packages, of up to 20kgs, to and from clinical areas, and between MEMS sites.
Carry out repetitive equipment testing which may require working in awkward positions where testing carried out on-site.
