Metal / Steel Fabricator

Main Duties

• Fabricate steel and metal components to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Cut, shape, assemble and finish materials using workshop tools and machinery.
• Interpret technical drawings, blueprints and job instructions.
• Ability to use workshop equipment including but not limited to
• Brake Press
• Guillotine

Requirements

• Trade qualification in Fabrication, Engineering or a related discipline such a Level 6 Advanced Certificate Craft – Metal Fabrication.
• Proven experience as a Fabricator in a mechanical engineering or industrial setting.
• MIG and TIG Welding required.
• Ability to read and understand fabrication and engineering drawings.
• Strong knowledge of metalworking techniques and workshop practices.
• Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools and fabrication machinery.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong understanding of workplace safety standards.
• Forklift and manual handling certification (beneficial).

Bandsaw

• Pedistal Drill
• Sectional and Plate Rolls
• Overhead Gantry Crane
• Forklift
• Ensure all work meets quality standards and project requirements.
• Collaborate with welders, fitters and engineering office to complete jobs efficiently.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised work environment.
• Follow all company health and safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE.
• Assist with site installation work when required.
