Mig Welder

Carry out MIG welding and fabrication of steel components for residential and commercial construction projects, working to approved engineering drawings and welding specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabricate and weld steel beams and columns with base plates, end plates, cleats and stiffeners to approved engineering drawings.
• Assemble and weld steel support frames for floor structures, roof supports and building openings.
• Weld brackets, anchor plates and connection assemblies used to secure steelwork to concrete structures.
• Measure, cut and prepare steel sections for structural assemblies.
• Align, fit and weld components to the dimensions and tolerances specified in engineering drawings.
• Carry out approved repairs and modifications to construction steelwork.
• Check weld quality, alignment and dimensions, correcting defects where required.
• Operate welding and fabrication equipment safely and follow construction-site safety procedures.
• 39 Hours per Week.

Requirements

• Minimum two years’ proven MIG welding experience, preferably in structural steelwork or construction fabrication.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and follow welding procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate workmanship.
• Ability to handle steel components safely, using lifting equipment or team assistance where required.
• Physical ability to lift and move tiles, materials and equipment weighing up to 50 lb
• Pay: €36,605.00 per year
