• Newcastle City Council (City Transport) are seeking an experienced time served motor vehicle technician to take up a permanent position.
• City Transport maintains & repairs a diverse range of vehicles, plant, & horticultural equipment as well as having two MOT stations, testing class 4,5 & 7 vehicles & Licenced Taxis & hackney carriages.
• Will you be the successful candidate to join the team, primarily in our Heavy Goods vehicle workshop at Newington Road.
• We are looking for someone full time with the skills & experience to achieve the effective & efficient maintenance, diagnostics, & repair of the council’s Heavy Goods Vehicle fleet 3.5t and upwards.
• You will have served a recognised apprenticeship in motor vehicle engineering to NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualification & experience in HGV service inspections and MOT preparation .
• A category B driving licence is essential with categories D1 or C licence being advantageous.
