Job Description

The Hydrometric Officer Tech is a full-time, on-site role based in Drogheda. This role involves maintaining, and calibrating hydrometric and environmental monitoring instruments at field sites, including water level, flow, and weather stations. The officer will perform regular site visits to inspect equipment performance, carry out troubleshooting and ensure accurate data collection and transmission via telemetry systems. Responsibilities include documenting field activities, preparing service and monitoring reports, following safety procedures, and coordinating with project managers and clients to support monitoring programs. The role also includes occasional participation in equipment upgrades, system commissioning, and assisting with training or guidance for colleagues and clients on proper use of instrumentation.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess skills in field instrumentation calibration, and maintenance for hydrometric or environmental monitoring systems.

Candidates should possess skills in data collection, data validation, and basic data analysis related to environmental and hydrological measurements.

Candidates should possess skills in telemetry systems, remote monitoring technologies, and troubleshooting communication issues between field stations and central systems.

Candidates should possess skills in technical documentation, report writing, and clear communication of field findings to project teams and clients.

Relevant qualifications such as a technical diploma or degree in environmental science, engineering, hydrology, or a related field are beneficial.

Experience in fieldwork, working in all weather conditions, and a full valid driving license are advantageous.

Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to work independently and as part of a team are important for success in this role.

Pay: €45,253.93-€54,474.27 per month
