About the role.

Ready to lead from the front and make your mark on New Zealand’s Foodservice market? As our New Zealand Field Sales Manager, you’ll inspire a national team of Sales Representatives, turn ambitious plans into winning execution and build powerful partnerships with end users and distributors. This is a high-impact opportunity to grow sales, strengthen market share and bring exciting new products to customers across the country.

If you love being close to customers, developing talented people and seeing strategy come to life in the field, this role puts you right at the heart of the action as we work to make McCain first choice in Foodservice.

What you'll be doing

Lead, coach and develop a national field team, building a high-performance culture focused on accountability, capability and growth.

Drive commercial performance across street business and end-user customers, using sales data, customer insights and market information to identify opportunities and improve results.

Turn strategy into field execution, driving key priorities including sales growth, market share, new product launches and customer initiatives.

Lead regular field visits, ride-alongs and coaching sessions, supported by quarterly evaluations and annual performance reviews.

Partner with Business Manager, Distributor Manager, Sales, Category and Marketing teams to execute national Foodservice priorities and ensure strong alignment across the customer journey.

Lead sales meetings, cycle planning and team development initiatives, creating clarity and momentum around commercial priorities.

Champion CRM discipline, reporting and execution excellence, ensuring strong visibility of team activity, opportunities and agreed actions.

Recruit and develop Sales Representatives as required, maintaining a strong talent pipeline through mentoring, development and succession-focused leadership.

Manage field sales operating costs within budget and ensure compliance with McCain policies, processes and Code of Conduct.

Travel nationally to spend time in the field with team members through field visits, ride-alongs, customer meetings and coaching.

What you'll need to be successful

Proven experience leading and developing sales or field-based teams, ideally within Foodservice or a customer-focused commercial environment, with a strong understanding of end users and distributors.

Strong coaching capability, with a track record of building capability and lifting individual and team performance.

Confidence managing performance and having courageous conversations, setting clear expectations and holding people accountable.

Strong commercial acumen and an analytical mindset, with the ability to use data and customer insights to identify opportunities, develop growth strategies and translate plans into action.

Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to build strong customer relationships and collaborate effectively across the business.

High energy, resilience and a results-focused mindset, with the ability to create momentum and lead a team through change and competing priorities.

A strong execution mindset, with the ability to turn strategy into clear priorities and deliver results through a field team.

Confidence using Microsoft Office and CRM systems, with a disciplined approach to reporting and managing customer and sales activity.

A proactive, self-starting approach, with strong organisation skills and the ability to work autonomously while contributing to a collaborative team.

Ability and willingness to travel nationally across New Zealand.

* A business or relevant tertiary qualification is desirable.
