Supervisor II - Operations

Location: Milan, IL

Duration: 12 months with possible extension

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a wage workforce to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency goals through Continuous Improvement (CI) activities.
• Ensure all personnel receive proper training, accurate work instructions, and necessary tools.
• Promote a safe workplace through regular safety communication, ergonomic assessments, and timely near-miss reporting with corrective actions.
• Oversee production plans, resolve workmanship issues, and ensure products meet established quality standards.
• Build employee engagement by maintaining open communication, providing feedback, and fostering a positive work environment.
• Monitor performance and take corrective action when needed, including disciplinary steps, while ensuring compliance with company policies and work rules.

Requirements

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills; collaborative mindset.
• Experience in manufacturing shop-floor or warehouse operations.
• Demonstrated leadership and team-management abilities.
• Ability to work cross-functionally (supply chain, engineering, operations, HR).
• Flexibility to work across shifts as needed.

Preferred

• Experience with Continuous Improvement Pay Plans (CIPP).
• Familiarity with wage/union policies, procedures, and work rules.
• Leadership experience within a union environment.
• Knowledge of CI methodologies and 5S.

Education

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
