Operations Team Leader - FIL
Job Description
We are looking for a practical and engaging Operations Team Leader to lead the day-to-day activities of our FIL manufacturing and warehouse teams in Mount Maunganui. Working a four-day, 10-hour shift roster, you will coordinate production, warehousing and dispatch activities while supporting safety, quality, delivery performance and continuous improvement.

In New Zealand, GEA Farm Technologies employs approximately 120 people across our Dairy Equipment business in Hamilton and our FIL Dairy Hygiene & Animal Health business in Mount Maunganui. Our Mount Maunganui site brings together manufacturing and warehouse operations to produce, store and dispatch dairy hygiene and animal health products that support dairy farmers in New Zealand and around the world. Quality, safety and continuous improvement are central to how our production teams work every day.
About the role:
This is an exciting opportunity to lead the day-to-day operations of our Farmers Industries manufacturing and warehouse teams. You will coordinate production, warehousing and dispatch activities to meet production schedules and customer delivery commitments, while ensuring products are produced, stored and dispatched safely, efficiently and to our quality standards. You will oversee inventory accuracy and stock control, support GMP compliance and quality documentation, and help maintain strong domestic and export dispatch performance. You will also assist with basic equipment troubleshooting and preventative maintenance. As a visible frontline leader, you will support and develop the team, encourage continuous improvement and help foster an engaged, high-performing culture while ensuring our health, safety, environmental and quality requirements are consistently met. About you:
To succeed in this role, you will be a practical and engaging people leader with experience coordinating manufacturing and warehouse operations. You will also bring:
Proven experience leading teams in a manufacturing, production or warehouse environment
Strong planning, prioritisation and coordination skills across day-to-day operations
A strong commitment to health, safety, environmental and quality standards
The ability to coach, develop and engage team members while building a high-performance culture
A continuous improvement mindset with the confidence to identify and implement practical improvements
Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders
A hands-on, solutions-focused approach with strong attention to detail
Experience working with chemicals and handling dangerous goods
A current forklift licence with at least two years’ forklift operating experience
