PACKING MACHINE OPERATOR
Job Description
About the role
You will be responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring, and maintaining packaging machinery to ensure products are packed efficiently while meeting quality, food safety, and production requirements.
Key responsibilities
Set up and operate packaging machinery accurately and efficiently
Monitor machine performance and product quality throughout production runs
Perform routine machine adjustments and minor troubleshooting
Complete production and quality records accurately
Follow all food safety, hygiene, and Health & Safety procedures
Assist with product changeovers and machine cleaning
Minimise downtime and wastage while maintaining production targets
Work closely with supervisors and team members to ensure smooth production flow
About you
Minimum 2 years' experience operating food packaging machinery in a manufacturing environment
Experience working with equipment such as: Multi-head weighers, Auger fillers, Linear weighers, Vertical Form Fill Seal (VFFS) machines, Rotary pouch packing machines, Check-weighers, Metal detectors
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Good understanding of food safety and GMP requirements
High attention to detail and commitment to quality
Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet production deadlines
Good communication and teamwork skills
Reliability, punctuality, and a positive attitude
Physical fitness and ability to perform manual handling tasks
