About the role

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Painter to join the team at H&A Paint and Design Limited. This is a full-time position based in Cambridge, Waikato. As a Painter, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality painting and decorating services to our clients. Your work will directly impact the aesthetic appeal and longevity of properties, making you an essential part of our service delivery team. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects, from residential to commercial properties, whilst developing your expertise in the painting and design industry.

What you'll be doing

Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and filling to ensure optimal paint adhesion and finish quality

Apply various types of paint, coatings, and finishes using appropriate techniques and

Maintain a safe and tidy work environment, following all health and safety regulations and best practices

Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and client expectations

Communicate effectively with clients to understand their requirements and provide professional advice on colour schemes and finishes

Collaborate with team members and management to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget

• When required, able to direct junior/less experienced team members

What we're looking for

Proven experience as a Painter or in a similar painting and decorating role within the trades and services sector

Strong knowledge of painting techniques, surface preparation, and various paint types and finishes

Ability to work with precision and attention to detail to achieve high-quality results

Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach to client interactions

Reliable, punctual, and committed to meeting project deadlines

A valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to job sites within the Waikato region

Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to painting work

Problem-solving abilities and adaptability to different project requirements

* Preferred: Relevant qualifications or certifications in painting and decorating, or experience with painting projects
